An interactive public art project that transforms San Francisco’s intersections into illuminated spaces of connection, memory, and mindfulness.
Created by interdisciplinary artist Laurus Myth, each performance involves maneuvering the sculpture and conversing with neighbors about pedestrian safety and recording their voices.

The Junction Keep was created in response to the rising number of pedestrian fatalities in San Francisco. Our performances expand on the belief that an intersection is a place or point where things join and a space of creation and destruction.

WHAT WE DO
The Junction Keep is a mobile public artwork that transforms busy intersections into places for conversation, reflection, and connection. During each activation, our team of Keepers:

Roll and expand an illuminated sculpture through public spaces after dark.

Welcome conversations with pedestrians, neighbors, and passersby.

Record audio stories that preserve community voices and lived experiences.

Offer small reflective gifts that encourage moments of pause and connection.

Partner with local artists, cultural organizations, and neighborhood events to elevate each place.

Build a growing archive of stories that document the people, memories, and identities of San Francisco.

Encourage greater awareness, care, and presence in the shared spaces we all move through.
